I’m pretty thrilled to announce this beautiful new recording by the Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles! My song, “Our First Christmas,” with lyrics by Larry Todd Cousineau, is from our first musical, ALL THAT HE WAS. You can hear a sneak peek of their beautiful performance in this rehearsal recording, led by Artistic Director Dr. Joe Nadeau and arranged by Dave Volpe.
Spoiler alert - we didn’t win. But it was a fantastic night!
I had a blast conducting the premiere of my piece, “Archangel,” with the Hollywood Chamber Orchestra and choir as part of the concert, KCRW Presents: The Future is Female at the Wiltern Theater here in L.A..
For most of my career, I have been surrounded by dudes - the only chick in the band, the only gal on the tour bus, and the only woman in the control room. Don’t get me wrong, I love my male collaborators, and I’m totally at home in a room full of guys.
What a thrill it was to receive an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Music Composition for a Series (Original Dramatic Score) for Once Upon a Time with my co-composers, Mark Isham and Mike Simon! I couldn’t ask for two more talented, inspiring, and fun collaborators who are also all-around cool guys and good friends.
What a joy it was to conduct the premiere of my new piece, “Sunrise,” with the Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra as part of their Hollywood Classics concert in the beautiful city of Olomouc.
Flies! The Musical is a hit in Chicago! Music by Cindy O’Connor, book and lyrics by Larry Todd Cousineau.
